Valencia launches direct flights to Montreal, revitalizing transatlantic connectivity

Valencia will soon welcome a direct transatlantic route, re-establishing its connection with Montreal, Canada, for the first time in over a decade. This new service will be operated by Air Transat and is set to commence on June 21, 2025, with flights scheduled for Saturdays.

The introduction of this route marks a significant milestone for Valencia’s Manises Airport, which has not seen a transatlantic flight since 2012, when its link to New York was discontinued. The resumption of these flights not only enhances the travel options available from Valencia but also strengthens Air Transat's presence in the Spanish market, which already includes routes from Barcelona, Madrid, and Málaga to Canada.

Sebastian Ponce, Air Transat's Chief Revenue Officer, emphasized the importance of this new route, stating, “The addition of this route to our summer schedule, an exclusive, non-stop route to the Americas, demonstrates our commitment to offering unique and diversified travel options. It allows us to further develop our presence in the Spanish market and offer even more opportunities to discover Canada.”

Pricing for the new Montreal flights appears competitive, with return tickets available from approximately €710 when booked three months in advance, although potential savings may be found through various flight comparison websites.

In addition to Montreal, Valencia will serve over 100 destinations during the summer of 2025. Travelers can currently access direct flights to numerous European destinations, as well as Morocco, Algeria, and Türkiye.

The city is also expanding its flight network, with new routes including two weekly flights to Reykjavik, Iceland, from Play, and additional services to Copenhagen, Denmark, and Oslo, Norway. EasyJet will enhance its connectivity with Amsterdam, while Ryanair will introduce routes to Pescara, Italy, and Poznan, Poland. Dan Air plans to offer flights to Bucharest, Romania, and Binter has recently launched services to Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

As Valencia prepares for this new chapter in its travel offerings, the anticipation surrounding the reintroduction of transatlantic flights highlights the city's growing importance as a hub for international travel.
