Ukraine’s President Zelensky arrives in Jordan to strengthen Gulf ties
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Jordan on Sunday as part of a regional tour aimed at reinforcing strategic partnerships with Gulf countries amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
The visit comes as Ukraine continues to seek international support in its ongoing conflict with Russia, while also addressing economic pressures and the need to strengthen its defense capabilities. The Ukrainian leadership is focusing on expanding cooperation with Middle Eastern partners, particularly in the areas of security and military technology.
During his trip, Zelensky is expected to hold high-level meetings with regional officials to discuss defense collaboration and mutual security concerns. His recent visits to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar have already led to agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in defense and technology sectors.
Ukraine has offered its expertise in air defense systems and drone technology, areas in which it has gained significant experience, to partners seeking to strengthen their own security frameworks. These discussions reflect a broader effort by Kyiv to diversify its alliances beyond traditional Western partners.
The diplomatic tour highlights Ukraine’s intention to play a more active role in global security cooperation while securing the support needed to sustain its defense efforts and economic stability.
