Tangier Police Arrest Two Suspects After Armed Robbery at Money Transfer Agency
Police in Tangier have arrested two individuals suspected of carrying out an armed robbery at a money transfer agency, following an investigation that led to their identification and apprehension on the same day as the alleged crime.
According to information reported by Moroccan media on October 27, judicial police officers operating under the Tangier Prefectural Police Directorate arrested the two suspects on Monday evening. The incident reportedly involved the use of bladed weapons to threaten people inside the agency and steal money.
The arrests followed investigative operations and searches aimed at identifying those responsible for the alleged offence.
Police seize cash and suspected robbery equipment
During searches conducted in connection with the arrests, officers recovered a sum of money believed to have originated from the robbery.
Police also seized two bladed weapons, two gloves and a face covering allegedly intended to conceal the suspects' identities. These items have become part of the evidence being examined as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The recovery of the cash and other objects could help investigators determine how the robbery was carried out and clarify the respective roles of the individuals under investigation.
Judicial investigation remains ongoing
Following their arrest, both suspects were placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
The inquiry is intended to establish the full circumstances of the case, clarify the events leading up to the alleged robbery and determine the precise acts attributable to each suspect.
Although the arrests represent a significant step in the investigation, the allegations remain subject to judicial examination. The suspects' responsibility will have to be established through the appropriate legal process.
The case highlights the role of rapid police investigations in responding to offences targeting commercial establishments and in gathering evidence for subsequent judicial proceedings.
