Uber-backed lime seeks Nasdaq listing in $180.9 million IPO push

The electric micromobility company Lime, backed by ride-hailing giant Uber, is preparing to raise up to $180.9 million through an initial public offering in the United States, according to a regulatory filing released on Monday.

The planned offering marks a significant step for the urban mobility operator as it seeks to expand its footprint in the competitive shared transport sector. Lime has become one of the most recognizable names in electric bike and scooter networks, operating fleets across multiple global cities and focusing on short-distance urban travel solutions.

According to the filing, the company intends to sell approximately 6.96 million shares, with pricing expected to range between $24 and $26 per share. The shares are set to be listed on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol “LIME,” positioning the firm within a growing cohort of technology-driven transport companies entering public markets.

Investment banks Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Jefferies are acting as underwriters for the offering.

The IPO comes at a time when investor appetite for mobility and climate-focused technology firms remains selective, with markets closely evaluating profitability pathways and regulatory risks in the shared transportation sector. Lime’s business model, which combines dockless electric scooters and bikes, has faced both rapid urban adoption and regulatory scrutiny in various cities.

The company has also benefited from broader industry shifts toward low-emission urban transport solutions, particularly in densely populated cities such as London, where demand for flexible last-mile mobility options continues to grow alongside public transport disruptions and environmental policy initiatives.

As Lime prepares for its market debut, analysts will be watching closely for signals on revenue growth, operational sustainability, and the company’s ability to scale profitability in a sector characterized by high capital costs and evolving municipal regulations.
