Two French Nationals extradited from Morocco in cocaine trafficking case

Two French citizens were extradited from Morocco and placed under formal investigation in Toulouse on Friday, authorities confirmed, as part of a crackdown on an organized drug trafficking network operating between Spain and France. Both suspects were also placed in pre-trial detention.

The suspects, aged 27 and 28, are accused of drug trafficking, organized importation of narcotics, and money laundering, covering a period from January 2021 to February 2024, according to Toulouse Prosecutor David Charmatz.

They are suspected leaders of the so-called “Arai Farmers” network, which reportedly operated from Barcelona under the direction of organizers based in Morocco, using the Telegram messaging app for coordination.

The two individuals were targeted by a European arrest warrant since April 2024. Previous arrests in the network included one leader in June 2024 after 18 months in Morocco, and two others apprehended in February 2025 and handed over to French authorities.

Investigations are ongoing to secure the extradition of remaining suspects still at large. Since the inquiry began—initiated by the Toulouse gendarmerie following a 2021 attempted murder—40 people have been indicted, including 15 currently in custody.
