Samsung unveils the new Galaxy Watch9 with upgraded features
Samsung has introduced its latest Galaxy Watch9 smartwatch, positioning the new model as a feature-rich device designed to combine advanced health monitoring, connectivity and durable construction.
The smartwatch features a robust body made from a combination of aluminium, plastic and reinforced glass. It is rated IP68 for resistance to dust and water and also meets the MIL-STD-810H standard for durability against various environmental conditions.
The Galaxy Watch9 comes with a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 480 by 480 pixels. With peak brightness reaching up to 3,000 nits, the screen is designed to remain clearly visible in a variety of lighting conditions and is protected by a durable crystal glass layer.
On the software side, the smartwatch runs on Wear OS 6 with Samsung's One UI Watch 9 interface. It is powered by the Snapdragon SW6100 Wear Elite processor, manufactured using a 3-nanometre process, and comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The device also supports eSIM connectivity, allowing users to connect to cellular networks without relying entirely on a smartphone. Built-in microphones and speakers enable voice calls, while dedicated applications provide controls for music and other connected functions.
Health and fitness monitoring remain key elements of the Galaxy Watch9. The smartwatch includes sensors designed to track several indicators, including heart rate, blood pressure and blood oxygen levels. It also features a skin temperature sensor to provide additional health-related data.
For navigation and outdoor activities, the device is equipped with satellite positioning capabilities and a digital compass. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 6.0, while the smartwatch is powered by a 445mAh battery compatible with a 10W wireless charging system.
With its combination of a high-brightness display, upgraded processing hardware, health-tracking tools and cellular connectivity, the Galaxy Watch9 reflects Samsung's continued push to expand the capabilities of wearable technology and strengthen its position in the competitive smartwatch market.
