Sofiane Rahimi mourns his aunt weeks after losing his father

Moroccan international Sofiane Rahimi is facing another painful loss after the death of his aunt, only weeks after the passing of his father.

The latest bereavement was made public on Tuesday by Rahimi’s brother, Amine Rahimi, who shared the news on Instagram. In a tribute to their late aunt, he remembered her as a kind and caring woman and offered prayers for her soul.

The death comes at an especially difficult time for the Rahimi family. Sofiane Rahimi recently lost his father, Mohamed Rahimi, widely known as “Youâri,” whose long association with Raja Casablanca made him a familiar figure within the Moroccan club’s history.

A family closely connected to Raja Casablanca

Mohamed Rahimi’s relationship with Raja Casablanca stretched back more than six decades. He joined the club’s youth setup in the early 1960s as a goalkeeper, but an accident later prevented him from pursuing a career with the senior team.

He subsequently remained involved with Raja in another important capacity, taking responsibility for the club’s equipment and sporting material. His long service made him a respected presence around the club and particularly familiar to generations of Raja supporters.

His story was also closely linked to the club’s stadium, where his name became associated with Raja’s institutional and sporting heritage.

Rahimi confronted with successive losses

For Sofiane Rahimi, the latest death represents a second major family tragedy in a short period. The Al Ain forward has continued to carry the responsibilities of his professional career while dealing with the loss of close relatives.

Messages of condolence are expected to be extended to Rahimi and his family as they navigate another period of mourning.

The footballer, who has become an established member of Morocco’s national team, now faces a deeply personal challenge away from the spotlight of international and club football.

For the Rahimi family, the succession of losses has placed the focus firmly on family solidarity and remembrance, while the memory of Mohamed Rahimi and his decades of service to Raja Casablanca continues to endure among those connected to the club.
