Saidia Mediterrania targets European growth at ITB Berlin
Saidia Mediterrania used the ITB Berlin travel trade fair in early March to push for a stronger position in international tourism and to raise the profile of Morocco’s Oriental region among European industry professionals.
The resort took part in the March 3 to 5 edition of ITB Berlin, one of the sector’s largest global gatherings, where nearly 6,000 exhibitors from 160 countries were represented. Appearing within the Moroccan pavilion alongside Agadir and Fès, Saidia Mediterrania was presented as one of the country’s flagship destinations. The participation formed part of a wider effort to strengthen its visibility with travel companies, especially in German-speaking markets known for high spending and strong demand for quality tourism products.
At the fair, the destination promoted a broad offer built around beach tourism, golf, culture and nature. Industry contacts were introduced to its hotel capacity, golf courses, marina, leisure facilities and access to the surrounding landscapes of the Oriental region. Organizers also stressed the destination’s climate, with around 300 days of sunshine a year, as a competitive advantage for long-season travel sales.
A central aim of the Berlin visit was to expand business ties with major German and Austrian tour operators. Those meetings focused on future partnerships and the development of organized travel products for European visitors. The outreach reflected coordination between local tourism stakeholders and the Moroccan National Tourist Office, with participation from hoteliers, tour operators and regional representatives.
The trip also served as a platform to position Saidia Mediterrania as more than a seasonal seaside resort. The destination linked its tourism model to year-round activity through meetings, sports and wellness, while also pointing to its location near the Moulouya area, described as a biologically and ecologically important site. Access through the airports of Oujda and Nador was presented as another practical asset for international arrivals.
For tourism operators in the Oriental region, the Berlin presence signaled an effort to convert visibility into commercial deals. It also underscored growing confidence that Saidia Mediterrania can capture more international demand if it continues to secure B2B agreements and package its coastal, leisure and nature assets in a way that matches European market expectations.
