Qatari delegation visits Morocco to boost military history cooperation
As part of efforts to strengthen ties between Qatar and Morocco, a senior Qatari military delegation visited the Directorate of Military History of the Royal Armed Forces in Rabat on April 14, 2025. The visiting officials are participants in the “Senior Legal Advisors Course,” a specialized training program in military justice, showcasing the growing military collaboration between the two nations.
The delegation was received by Major General Youssef El Mahdi, who heads the Directorate. He extended a warm welcome before leading an informative presentation that outlined the directorate’s mission, its role in preserving Morocco’s military heritage, and its efforts in documenting the country's historical military milestones.
The program continued with an on-site tour of various historical sections of the Directorate. Delegates were guided through Morocco's military past by both civilian and military personnel, starting from the Idrisid dynasty through successive eras, including the current Alaouite dynasty. The visit highlighted the valorous contributions of Moroccan forces throughout history, offering a deeper understanding of the nation’s rich military legacy.
The visit ended with a group photo session. The Qatari delegation thanked their Moroccan hosts for the warm reception and excellent organization. They expressed a strong desire to see continued growth in cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of military history, in alignment with the aspirations of both nations’ leadership.
