Promoting Moroccan Identity on a Global Stage: Les Impériales 2024 Explores the Power of "The Moroccan Brand"

From February 14-16, Casablanca will host Les Impériales 2024, a major event for the advertising industry in Morocco. Under the theme "THE MOROCCAN ID - INSPIRE. CREATE. EMPOWER", this seventh edition aims to celebrate Moroccan identity in all its facets, from historical roots to contemporary influence. 

Lamia Ajana, General Director of Shem's Publicité, highlights the importance of this annual gathering. She notes Les Impériales offer more than just an exploration of the advertising sector; it provides a deep dive into what it truly means to be Moroccan. "This panel touches the heart of Moroccans. It can encompass many aspects, but the crucial one is deeply exploring [our identity]," Ajana explains. "The event allows us to network with other advertising professionals and stay up-to-date on industry developments through thought-provoking debates."

This year's theme, "THE MOROCCAN ID", moves beyond the boundaries of a single advertising campaign. It represents a significant evolution in how "Moroccan-ness" is utilized in advertising. "Today, advertising heavily leverages Moroccan identity," Ajana notes. "We have the potential to be a strongly referenced world leader in advertising by developing a distinct Moroccan-Moroccan identity in our communications."  

Les Impériales thus serves as a platform to discuss Moroccan advertising's future and potential on the international stage. The goal is not only to celebrate Morocco's unique identity, but position it as a source of inspiration for advertisers globally. Les Impériales 2024 opens new perspectives on how advertising can both culturally enrich and promote national identity while adapting to the constantly evolving demands of the global market.
