President Erdoğan welcomes Turkish Cypriot counterpart in Istanbul
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Tufan Erhürman in Istanbul on Thursday, in a meeting reflecting ongoing diplomatic engagement between Türkiye and Northern Cyprus.
The official ceremony took place at the historic Dolmabahçe Palace, where the two leaders later held closed-door discussions, according to statements from the Turkish presidency.
The meeting brought together key figures from Türkiye’s political and security establishment, including İbrahim Kalın, Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Burhanettin Duran.
While no detailed statement was released on the outcomes, such high-level meetings typically address regional developments, bilateral relations, and the broader Cyprus issue, which remains a central topic in Eastern Mediterranean geopolitics.
