Paris attack foiled near bank of america, two more suspects arrested
French authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection with a foiled attack near the Paris headquarters of Bank of America, bringing the total number of individuals in custody to three.
The incident occurred overnight from Friday to Saturday in Paris, where a 17-year-old suspect was caught in the act while allegedly attempting to ignite a homemade incendiary device outside the bank’s premises. According to investigators, the teenager was trying to set fire to a container filled with flammable liquid. His custody has since been extended as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Following this initial arrest, law enforcement agencies detained two more individuals believed to be linked to the attempted attack. The case is now being handled by the Parquet national antiterroriste (PNAT), which has opened a formal investigation into multiple terrorism-related charges.
These include attempted destruction by dangerous means in connection with a terrorist enterprise, manufacturing and possession of an explosive or incendiary device, and participation in a terrorist conspiracy. The investigation has been entrusted to the Paris judicial police and the Direction générale de la sécurité intérieure (DGSI).
Authorities are also examining a possible broader network. Investigators are exploring links to a series of recent incidents targeting American, Israeli, or Jewish interests across several European countries, including Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
At this stage, officials have not disclosed detailed information about the suspects’ profiles or motivations. Further updates are expected once the ongoing custody procedures are completed.
The case highlights heightened security concerns in France, where authorities remain on alert amid evolving threats and regional geopolitical tensions.
