A large fire broke out in a nightclub in Kehl, a German town near Strasbourg, forcing the evacuation of around 750 people, according to German police. The venue is known to attract many visitors from across the nearby French border.
The blaze reportedly started at around 3:45 a.m. before quickly spreading throughout the entire building. Emergency services were deployed to the scene as flames engulfed the structure, with images showing the roof consumed by fire.
All individuals inside the nightclub were safely evacuated. Three people required medical attention, though no serious injuries were immediately reported. Witnesses described a rapid and organized evacuation, supported by announcements in several languages, including German, French, and English. Staff members were said to have acted efficiently, helping to guide people and maintain calm.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this stage. Officials emphasized that, despite the scale of the incident, the swift response likely prevented a more serious outcome.
