CASABLANCA - The third "Digital Now!" summit concluded yesterday after two days of deliberations focused on empowering Moroccan small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven business landscape.

The high-profile event brought together key figures from the public and private sectors to address persistent challenges faced by smaller companies in accessing financing and integrating digital solutions. Attendees underscored the responsibility of industry leaders in uplifting SMEs through mentorship and unlocking growth opportunities.

"Humility and curiosity are key ingredients in identifying external solutions and infusing value into existing processes," emphasized Habib Adnane, Chief Information Officer of Lydec, during his remarks on the transformative mindset required for innovation absorption.

Adnane highlighted the journey towards a more mature and innovative national business environment, emphasizing the need for larger corporations to play a pivotal role in nourishing smaller enterprises for the advancement of the Moroccan economy.

Simultaneously, Ahmed Arabi, Executive Director of Market Operations at the Casablanca Stock Exchange, explored financing hurdles facing SMEs in the digital environment. He outlined collaborative efforts within the business ecosystem to facilitate funding access for smaller firms with unique budgetary needs based on maturity and sector of activity.

Arabi also spotlighted various government-led initiatives alongside stock exchange and banking institutions to deliver financial solutions tailored to individual SME requirements. He further called for enhanced mentorship to aid entrepreneurs in comprehending financial complexities and structuring organizations for sustainable growth.

In conclusion, speakers emphasized that realizing Morocco's digital future requires continued upskilling of human capital alongside technology adoption. The symbiotic growth between industry giants and SMEs relies on persistent investments to elevate smaller players across advancing sectors, they said.
