Morocco triumphs in Arab Mathematical, Logical Games Championship
Morocco has secured the top position in the second edition of the Arab Championship of Mathematical and Logical Games for the under-14 category, as announced by the Moroccan Ministry of Education. The event, organized by the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO) from its headquarters in Tunis, was held online.
During the closing ceremony, the Moroccan national team was awarded three gold medals and one bronze medal. The gold medals were won by Ismail Abquari from Al Maqurizi School in Skhirat-Temara, Yahya El Ouafi from Tangerine School in Tanger-Assilah, and Yahya Ajbar from Al Fadl School, also in Tanger-Assilah. Lina Laman from Zenith School in Skhirat-Temara secured the bronze medal.
This year's competition saw the participation of 16 Arab countries, each represented by a team of four candidates. The Moroccan team was selected based on their performance during the National Mathematics Olympiad and the first edition of the Arab Championship of Mathematical and Logical Games.
In its statement, the Ministry of Education congratulated the four students for their outstanding performances and expressed gratitude to their teachers, the members of the National Mathematics Olympiad Central Committee, and the Moroccan Mathematics Association for their hard work in preparing the students for this regional competition. The ministry also thanked the families of the champions for their support and wished the students continued success in the next edition of the World Mathematics and Logic Games Championship.
