Morocco: Treasury invests MAD 11.3 billion in short-term placements
The Directorate of the Treasury and External Finance (DTFE) carried out four short-term investment operations on Thursday, placing a total of MAD 11.3 billion of cash surpluses.
The largest operation, amounting to MAD 6.4 billion, was conducted as a repurchase agreement for seven days at an average weighted rate of 2.26%. Two other similar placements covered MAD 2.1 billion for one day at 1.6% and MAD 1.7 billion for seven days at 1.81%, respectively. Finally, a one-day outright placement of MAD 1.1 billion was subscribed at a rate of 2.25%.
These short-term operations are part of the Treasury’s strategy to manage liquidity efficiently and ensure the optimal use of public funds.
