Morocco to host African Clubs Association headquarters in Salé
In a significant development for African football, an agreement was signed on Monday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex to establish the headquarters of the African Clubs Association (ACA) in Salé, Morocco. The signing ceremony featured Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), and Hersi Ally Said, President of the ACA.
"This agreement marks a historic moment for African football," stated Lekjaa, highlighting the ACA's pivotal role in enhancing club football across the continent. He emphasized its goals of improving competitions, securing sponsorships, and fostering innovation within the sport.
Lekjaa further reiterated Morocco's dedication to supporting the ACA by providing essential resources, infrastructure, and an optimal working environment for its operations.
In his remarks, Hersi Ally Said praised Morocco's strategic location and modern facilities as key factors in the decision to host the ACA's headquarters in the Kingdom. He noted that these advantages would significantly aid in uniting African clubs and addressing various challenges faced by the sport.
The ACA operates under the auspices of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and aims to promote cooperation among clubs while tackling issues that impact football on the continent.
