The Official Journal of the US Congress has confirmed a major defense transaction authorizing the sale of 600 FIM-92K Stinger Block I surface-to-air missiles to Morocco. This military agreement, approved by the United States government, is valued at approximately $825 million. The information was disclosed in an official communication from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) to Congress.

The latest volume of the US Congressional Record (Vol. 171, No. 70) includes the formal notification, identified as Transmittal No. 25–12, issued by the Department of Defense through the DSCA. This notification was submitted to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and outlines the proposed military sale to Morocco.

This strategic acquisition involves the supply of short-range, high-precision FIM-92K Stinger missiles, known for their effectiveness at low altitudes. The deal also includes 24 M134 launch units and a wide array of related equipment such as battery units, integrated testing tools, logistics support, technical manuals, spare parts, and maintenance services. Operational training support is also part of the package.

Additionally, the agreement provides for technical assistance from the US government and contractual support from key private defense contractors. These include RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies), headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, and Lockheed Martin, based in Orlando, Florida.
