Morocco's blood stocks stable, but national agency urges continued solidarity
Rabat, August 7, 2025 – Morocco’s National Agency for Blood and Its Derivatives has reassured the public about the availability of blood reserves across the country, emphasizing that the current situation is under control and stable.
In a press release issued in response to media rumors about potential blood shortages during the summer, the agency confirmed that no immediate risk of shortage exists. This stability, it said, is largely due to the increased engagement of citizens and their strong participation in blood donation drives nationwide.
The agency expressed deep appreciation for civil society organizations and voluntary donors, whose mobilization—especially during high-demand periods—reflects a spirit of national unity and civic responsibility.
It also confirmed that all public and private hospital needs are being met daily, thanks to coordinated efforts with regional blood transfusion centers throughout the country.
Still, the agency stressed that the need for blood is constant, not seasonal. It urged citizens to donate regularly, as this simple act can save the lives of children, pregnant women, people with chronic or cancer-related illnesses, and accident victims.
Blood donation, it concluded, is more than a medical act—it is an act of life, a civic duty, and a collective responsibility.
