Maylis Daubon faces 30-year sentence for allegedly poisoning her daughters
Maylis Daubon, accused of poisoning her two daughters—one fatally—has been on trial since late November at the Mont-de-Marsan criminal court in southwestern France. Prosecutors allege that she administered high doses of medication to her children, causing the death of her eldest daughter, Enea, in November 2019, and attempted to harm her younger daughter, Luan.
On Wednesday, the public prosecutor requested a 30-year prison sentence, including a 15-year mandatory minimum, citing the “particularly serious nature” of the offenses. Marc Bourragué, the lead prosecutor, emphasized that the acts were committed successively on both daughters.
Following the defense’s closing arguments, the jury and judges will retire to deliberate. The verdict is expected later today.
