Mawazin festival unites global and oriental music in Rabat's vibrant celebration
The Mawazin festival returns to Rabat on Saturday, June 28, igniting the city with a blend of international and oriental music. This year’s edition promises a captivating journey through diverse sounds, featuring an impressive lineup of artists performing across Rabat’s iconic venues.
A night of global and regional rhythms
The festival begins at 17:30 on the Chellah stage with Gulay Hacer Toruk, whose international artistry sets the tone for an evening of musical brilliance. At 21:00, Majida El Roumi, an icon of oriental music known for her commanding voice and emotional depth, performs at the National Theatre Mohammed V.
Simultaneously, the OLM Souissi stage will burst with energy as international stars ElGrandeToto and Lil Baby take the spotlight at 21:30. Moroccan artist Abdelaziz Stati will bring traditional flair to the Salé stage, celebrating the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
At 22:30, Julian Marley will light up the Bouregreg stage with his unique reggae sound, blending international elements with his deep-rooted traditions. Meanwhile, the Nahda stage will feature two celebrated oriental artists, Mohamed Fadel Chaker and Sherine, who will close the night with electrifying performances that showcase the beauty of the region’s music.
