Massive Protests in the U.S. Against the Trump Administration

On Saturday, a wave of mass protests swept across the United States, with tens of thousands of people gathering in all 50 states to challenge what they perceive as the Trump administration's abuse of power. This nationwide action came just days after the announcement of significant tariffs by President Donald Trump.

The protests were widespread, visible on an online map with red markers representing gatherings in every state, particularly on the coasts. Around 1,200 rallies were held across the country, organized by various groups, including civil rights organizations, unions, LGBT associations, and advocacy groups like Indivisible and MoveOn.

While it's difficult to determine the exact number of participants, the scenes from major cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, New York, and Washington were striking. The message was loud and clear: half of America, disillusioned by Trump's election and horrified by his actions since taking office, sought to remind the White House, Congress, and the media that their voices still matter. Meanwhile, in Florida, Trump played a senior golf match, according to an official statement, showing no signs that public anger or the looming risk of recession, caused by falling markets, would alter his agenda.

The protests were marked by a wide variety of slogans and demands, encapsulated by the unifying rallying cry, “Hands off!” Protesters gathered to defend democracy, the environment, veterans, minority rights, national park rangers, Ukraine, the rule of law, judges, healthcare, immigrants targeted for arrest and deportation, public schools, bookstores, museums, and more. The list of causes represented was extensive and highlighted the broad concerns citizens have with the administration's policies.
