Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Jerusalem on Wednesday to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, condemning his leadership for alleged anti-democratic policies and for continuing the war against Hamas without prioritizing the release of the 58 hostages still held in Gaza.

This protest, the largest in months, was organized by opposition groups challenging Netanyahu’s policies, particularly his decision to dismiss the head of the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency.

The renewed Israeli strikes on Gaza, coinciding with the anticipated dismissal of Ronen Bar, prompted families of hostages and their supporters to join the demonstration outside the Knesset. Protesters later marched toward Netanyahu’s private residence, voicing fears that Israel was shifting toward dictatorship.

Some banners read "We are all hostages," while others called on the United States to "save Israel from Netanyahu." Many demonstrators accused the Prime Minister of using the war to consolidate power and suppress internal dissent.

Netanyahu’s government has recently taken steps to dismiss the Attorney General, who had raised concerns about his policies. Protesters warned that democracy in Israel is at risk and vowed to continue their movement until change is achieved.
