Kering to acquire stake in Chinese luxury brand icicle
French luxury group Kering, the owner of Gucci, has announced that it will acquire a minority stake in Shanghai-based Icicle Fashion Group as part of a new strategic partnership with its parent company, ICCF.
The investment reflects Kering’s continued efforts to strengthen its presence in the Chinese luxury market, which remains one of the most important growth regions for global fashion brands.
Founded in 1997, Icicle is a fast-growing Chinese luxury brand known for its focus on sustainable and minimalist fashion. In recent years, the company has expanded internationally, opening stores in major cities across Europe, including Paris. According to Kering, Icicle now operates more than 200 retail locations worldwide.
The partnership is expected to support Icicle’s global expansion while allowing Kering to deepen its exposure to the Chinese high-end fashion sector, which has shown strong resilience despite global economic uncertainty.
This move highlights the increasing collaboration between Western luxury groups and emerging Chinese brands as competition and consumer demand evolve in the global fashion industry.
