Italian Ambassador Highlights Morocco's Key Role in Energy Transition
The Ambassador of Italy to Rabat, Armando Barucco, has underscored Morocco's crucial role as a key partner of Italy in the field of renewable energies and energy transition.
During his participation in the first edition of the Africa Smart City Forum in Benguérir, he highlighted the importance of this event within the framework of the Mattei Plan, recently launched during the Italy-Africa Summit, where Morocco is a major partner in these fields.
The Italian diplomat stated that the theme of this forum is "very important for us within the framework of the Mattei Plan that we have just launched at the Italy-Africa Summit."
The Italian Ambassador particularly praised the collaboration between the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and Italian university institutions, with over 150 bilateral agreements.
Barucco also emphasized the importance of Smart Cities in future development, particularly in Africa, due to the emergence of megalopolises and the challenges associated with their management.
