Israeli military claims destruction of half of Iran's missile stockpile
The Israeli military reported on Sunday that it has destroyed approximately half of Iran's missile stockpiles following a series of joint airstrikes conducted with the United States over Tehran. The operation reportedly resulted in the deaths of 40 high-ranking Iranian officials.
Brigadier General Effie Defrin, spokesperson for the Israeli army, stated in a televised address that the strikes targeted Iran’s missile production capabilities, preventing the manufacture of at least 1,500 additional missiles.
"Recently, the regime was producing dozens of surface-to-surface missiles per month and intended to increase production to several hundred per month," Defrin added. The statement emphasized that the operation aimed to significantly reduce the Iranian military's offensive capacity.
The airstrikes, which began on Saturday, mark one of the most substantial escalations in the region in recent months, raising concerns about further instability in the Middle East. Analysts warn that such operations could have broad implications for regional security and international diplomatic efforts.
