Geely Auto Europe aims to double vehicle projects by next year
Geely Auto Group, the Chinese automaker, announced plans to double the number of vehicle projects managed by its European technology hub by next year. The move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Europe and accelerate vehicle launches across the Zeekr, Lynk & Co, and Geely brands.
Geely’s European R&D operations, including centers in Gothenburg and Frankfurt, have been streamlined under the Geely Tech Europe banner to reduce development timelines and enhance engineering support. The parent company aims to rank among the world’s top five automakers by 2030, with global sales exceeding 6.5 million vehicles, one-third of which will be abroad, making Europe a key market.
The company has also explored potential collaborations with global manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz and Ford, to expand production capabilities and technology sharing. Geely remains closely linked to Volvo Cars and Polestar, both of which are implementing cost reductions and deeper integration within the Geely group.
