Fouzi Lekjaa inspires Morocco’s U20 squad ahead of AFCON

As the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt draws near, Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), held a motivational meeting with the national U20 team on April 21, 2025, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.

In a statement released by the FRMF, Lekjaa emphasized the importance of representing Morocco with commitment and determination. He encouraged the young players to pursue victory and not merely participate in the tournament. “You must play for the title, not just to show up,” he said. “You represent not only this team, but also the future of our national squad for the 2030 World Cup.”

Lekjaa also highlighted that all national teams, regardless of age category, are part of a long-term development strategy aimed at creating a strong talent pool for the senior team. He pointed out that the U20 players now have a real chance to showcase their talent and earn their place at the highest level.

“Football today is not only about technical ability but also about experience and progression,” he noted. “Those who rise through the youth ranks are best equipped for elite competition.”

To conclude, Lekjaa reassured the players that the FRMF is fully committed to providing them with the necessary support both logistical and psychological for optimal preparation.
