Fourteen dead and thirty-four injured in Algeria bus accident
Fourteen people lost their lives and thirty-four others were injured in a major road accident on Saturday in the locality of Tebelballa, in southern Algeria, according to the country’s civil protection services.
Authorities reported that the accident occurred on December 6 when a passenger bus skidded and overturned while traveling on a national road linking Bechar to Tindouf. Emergency responders were dispatched quickly to the site, where they provided assistance to the injured and transported them to nearby medical facilities.
President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his sorrow following the tragedy and offered condolences to the families of the victims.
This incident marks the deadliest road accident in Algeria since August, when a passenger bus plunged into a riverbed near Algiers, resulting in 18 fatalities.
