Elon Musk slams Trump for dismissing Epstein investigation as a hoax

Elon Musk has launched fresh criticism against former President Donald Trump, accusing him of downplaying the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and obstructing efforts to uncover potential ties between the disgraced financier and the powerful elite.

Musk challenges Trump's hoax claims

In a series of posts on his X platform on Wednesday, Musk criticized Trump’s recent comments dismissing the Epstein case as a “hoax.” Trump’s refusal to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Epstein’s connections to influential figures — including himself — has drawn Musk’s ire.

“Wow, amazing that Epstein ‘killed himself’ and Ghislaine [Maxwell] is in federal prison for a hoax,” Musk wrote, referencing Maxwell’s 2022 conviction for aiding Epstein in the sexual abuse of minors. She is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Musk has repeatedly expressed skepticism about the official account of Epstein’s death, which was ruled a suicide while he was awaiting trial for federal sex trafficking charges in 2019. Conspiracy theories suggest Epstein was silenced to prevent the exposure of high-profile individuals allegedly involved in his crimes.

Allegations of suppression

Musk’s frustration echoes that of many conspiracy theorists who believe that Epstein kept a “client list” of powerful associates who participated in his exploitation schemes. On Wednesday, Musk vented that “not even one” alleged predator linked to Epstein and Maxwell has been prosecuted. He also accused influential figures of suppressing the release of critical information.

“So many powerful people want that list suppressed,” Musk claimed in one of over a dozen posts about Epstein made within an hour.

Trump dismisses concerns

Trump, for his part, has repeatedly dismissed the Epstein investigation as baseless. In a Truth Social post on Wednesday morning, he criticized both reporters and his own supporters for pushing the issue, calling it a “bulls–t” Democratic Party ruse. “Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax,” Trump wrote.

No list, says Justice Department

Adding to the controversy, Trump-appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi stated last week that no Epstein “client list” exists. She confirmed that no further information about the case would be released by the Justice Department, fueling skepticism among critics of the investigation’s transparency.

The case continues to polarize public opinion, with Musk emerging as one of the most vocal critics of how the Epstein investigation has been handled.
