Eleven injured in reported Ukrainian drone strike in Russia
At least eleven people were injured overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday following what Russian regional authorities described as a Ukrainian drone strike in southwestern Russia.
According to Murat Kumpilov, head of the Republic of Adygea, the incident occurred in the Takhtamoukay district, south of the city of Krasnodar. The reported attack caused a fire in a residential building and a nearby parking area. Regional officials said that nine of the injured were taken to hospital, including two children, and that no fatalities were recorded.
The Krasnodar region, located near the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, has been repeatedly targeted in recent months amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Kyiv has stated that its drone operations are aimed at infrastructure it considers linked to Russia’s military and economic capabilities.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense said it had intercepted and destroyed dozens of Ukrainian drones during the night, including a significant number over the Krasnodar region. Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the specific incident.
The exchanges come as the war, now nearing its fourth year, continues to affect civilian areas on both sides, raising concerns over regional security and humanitarian consequences.
