Celebrating the Crown Prince: Moulay El Hassan Turns 21 Amidst National Reverence
On a joyous day brimming with patriotic fervor, the Royal Family and the Moroccan people unite in celebration of the 21st birthday of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan. This momentous occasion serves as a resounding affirmation of the unwavering and irreversible bond between the Moroccan populace and the Alaouite Throne, a steadfast guarantor of the Kingdom's unity and stability.
This anniversary harkens back to the jubilant moments of May 8, 2003, when the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancery announced the birth of a son to King Mohammed VI at the Royal Palace in Rabat. In a poignant tribute to his late grandfather, the revered King Hassan II, may his soul rest in eternal peace, the newborn was bestowed with the name Moulay El Hassan.
The celebration of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan's 21st birthday renews the Moroccan people's immutable allegiance to the Alaouite Throne, a bond forged through the oath of allegiance that unites them with the King, Amir Al-Mouminine, the defender of faith and guardian of the nation's supreme interests and those of its citizens.
This auspicious event also presents an opportunity to reflect on the prominent activities of Moulay El Hassan, who recently presided over the awarding ceremony of the Grand Prix Roi Mohammed VI at the Hassan II Racecourse in Rabat's Méchouar on April 28th.
On the 22nd of the same month, the Crown Prince graced the opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the International Agriculture Fair in Morocco, held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI under the theme "Climate and Agriculture: Towards Sustainable and Resilient Production Systems," at Mechouar Stinia "Sahrij Souani" in Meknes.
Last December 18th, Moulay El Hassan welcomed Saudi Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers, at the Guests' Palace in Rabat, as the latter conveyed a verbal message to King Mohammed VI from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Sovereign of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On December 1st, following the orders of King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, rain-seeking prayers (Salat Al Istisqae) were performed at Al-Masjid Al-Aâdam in Rabat, in the presence of the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, upholding the tradition of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him, during times of drought.
In November of the previous year, Moulay El Hassan presided over the installation ceremony of the new members of the Royal Academy of Morocco, marking the opening of the prestigious institution's first session under its new configuration.
On July 30th, 2023, he presided over a luncheon hosted by the Head of Government in Tetouan, commemorating the 24th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne.
The following day, acting on the orders of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Leader and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), he received well-wishes, loyalty, and allegiance from the FAR family at the Officers' Mess Circle of the Royal Guard in Tetouan, marking the 24th anniversary of the Sovereign's enthronement.
The Crown Prince then received the valedictorians from prominent military and paramilitary academies and institutes, before presiding over a luncheon hosted by His Majesty the King, Supreme Leader and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, in honor of the guests attending the swearing-in ceremony of the "Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem" promotions.
On June 22nd, acting on the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Leader and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, Moulay El Hassan presided over the graduation ceremony of the 23rd Advanced Defense Course and the 57th Staff Course at the Royal College of Advanced Military Education in Kenitra.
On May 14th, following the orders of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Leader and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, he presided over the luncheon hosted by His Majesty the King at the Officers' Mess Circle in Rabat, commemorating the 67th anniversary of the creation of the Royal Armed Forces.
The Crown Prince has also been present alongside the King during Council of Ministers meetings, working sessions, and religious lectures presided over by the Sovereign, Amir Al-Mouminine, during the sacred month of Ramadan 1445, the blessed Laylat Al-Qadr vigil, and the Eid Al-Fitr prayer.
Each of Moulay El Hassan's public appearances perpetuates a long-standing tradition aimed at initiating and familiarizing the Crown Prince with the responsibilities he will be called upon to assume within a society that remains steadfastly attached to its values and plural identity.
