Brazil Adopts Full Map of Morocco During G20 Presidency
As part of its annual G20 presidency, Brazil has revealed a world map that includes the complete geographical representation of the Kingdom of Morocco, encompassing its southern provinces. This map, created by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and presented to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, highlights the G20 member countries, which consist of 19 nations along with the African Union and the European Union, under Brazil's rotating presidency.
The map also emphasizes countries where Brazil has diplomatic representations, showcasing its extensive presence worldwide, particularly in Africa.
According to IBGE, "the creation of this world map is an opportunity for Brazil to uniquely position itself on the international stage, in line with its G20 presidency."
During a recent official visit by the Brazilian Foreign Minister to Morocco in June, Brazil expressed its appreciation for Morocco's serious and credible efforts towards resolving the dispute over Sahara, aligned with the autonomy initiative proposed by Morocco in 2007.
In a joint statement, Brazil reaffirmed its support for UN efforts aimed at achieving a political solution that is acceptable to both parties regarding the Sahara issue, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.
