Best Health announces Adnane Zerhouni as its new CEO to accelerate growth and innovation in Africa’s healthcare sector.

Best Health has officially appointed Adnane Zerhouni as its new Chief Executive Officer, signaling a strategic step to expand its leadership in Africa’s healthcare industry. This move aligns with the company’s vision to deliver advanced, tailored medical solutions to healthcare facilities and professionals across the continent.

In a statement, Best Health emphasized its goal of reinforcing its position in the African healthcare market by providing innovative and efficient medical technologies. Zerhouni, who brings nearly two decades of expertise in investment and business development across Africa, is expected to spearhead the company’s next phase of innovation and expansion.

Specialized subsidiaries driving healthcare excellence

Best Health has become a recognized name in African healthcare, operating through a network of specialized subsidiaries. These entities focus on delivering cutting-edge equipment, technologies, and services to hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and specialized medical practitioners.

In Morocco, the group oversees subsidiaries such as SCRIM (hospital equipment and medical imaging), Soma Medical (implantable medical devices), Mabiotech (in vitro diagnostics and laboratory solutions), and Saiss Environnement (medical waste management and treatment). Beyond Morocco, Best Health’s footprint extends to Tunisia through TMS, Senegal with MTS, and Ivory Coast via Ivocare. These subsidiaries specialize in hospital equipment, medical imaging, and radiotherapy, demonstrating the company’s expansive reach.

Pioneering milestones in African healthcare

Since its establishment in 2000, Best Health has delivered numerous groundbreaking achievements in African healthcare. The company introduced the first active stent for coronary heart disease treatment in Morocco and conducted the country’s first cardiac electrophysiology case using ABBOTT radio frequency equipment.

In 2004, Best Health installed Morocco’s first Elekta accelerator at the National Institute of Oncology, followed by the launch of the region’s first radiosurgery system (GammaKnife Perfexion) in the Maghreb and West Africa in 2008. The company further solidified its pioneering role with Africa’s first 3T MRI at the National Institute of Oncology in 2014 and the continent’s first Hybrid Operating Room, installed at Rabat’s Military Hospital in 2017.
