Aziz Akhannouch announces 581 billion dirhams in approved investment projects
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, presented on Wednesday before both Houses of Parliament in Rabat a report focused on crisis management, the continuation of reforms, and the revival of investment. During this session dedicated to evaluating government action, he stated that the executive has chosen to act in the midst of difficulties rather than wait for more favorable conditions.
According to Akhannouch, economic and social constraints have not been seen as obstacles, but rather as a test of political responsibility toward citizens and the country. He said this approach has helped strengthen an institutional framework based on pragmatism, stability, and the pursuit of tangible results.
A volatile global context
The Head of Government referred to an international environment marked by uncertainty, market tensions, supply chain disruptions, and successive economic crises. In this context, he said Morocco has opted for anticipation and adaptation, continuing its strategic projects under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
He also stated that this orientation has helped the Kingdom preserve its economic balance and strengthen its credibility among investors.
Economic sovereignty as a priority
Akhannouch presented economic sovereignty as a key pillar of government policy. He cited employment support programs, business assistance measures, efforts to preserve purchasing power, and initiatives aimed at ensuring market stability.
According to him, these decisions have contributed to the recovery of several sectors and improved resilience against external shocks.
A new boost for investment
The Head of Government also highlighted the accelerated implementation of the new Investment Charter. The stated objective is to raise the private sector’s contribution to two-thirds of national investment by 2035.
In this context, he announced that the National Investment Commission has approved 381 projects worth a total of 581 billion dirhams. These projects are expected to generate nearly 245,000 direct and indirect jobs.
He specified that 297 of these projects, representing 513 billion dirhams in investments and around 200,000 direct jobs, were approved since the entry into force of the new framework.
Support for SMEs and territorial balance
Finally, Akhannouch emphasized the establishment of support mechanisms dedicated to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. These measures aim to encourage investment across Morocco’s regions and strengthen more decentralized project governance.
Through this address, the Head of Government defended a political line focused on continuity of reforms, economic efficiency, and Morocco’s attractiveness in a changing global environment.
