Abdellatif Hammouchi honors the legacy of Mohammed V on 66th anniversary of his passing
On March 11, 2025, Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Director of the General Directorate of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, visited the Mausoleum of Mohammed V in Rabat to pay tribute to the memory of the Father of the Nation, the late King Mohammed V, marking the 66th anniversary of his death.
Despite heavy rainfall, Hammouchi solemnly commemorated the soul of Mohammed V, demonstrating respect and reverence during this significant occasion.
The Moroccan people observed this day, the 10th of Ramadan, with piety and reflection, honoring the legacy of Mohammed V, a pivotal figure in Morocco's fight for independence and a symbol of the struggle for freedom and emancipation.
This remembrance serves as a recognition of a king who devoted himself wholeheartedly to the cause of Morocco's independence, making countless sacrifices to fulfill the shared dream of all Moroccans: the departure of the last soldier of the protectorate and the establishment of a state grounded in law and democracy.
Just four years after Morocco's independence was declared, the late monarch passed away on the 10th of Ramadan in the year 1380 of the Hijri calendar (February 26, 1961), leaving behind a legacy of patriotism, commitment, and bravery. He dedicated his life to the just cause of his nation, facing numerous challenges and the machinations of colonial authorities without ever losing his faith or determination.
