His Majesty the King will preside over a religious vigil on Monday to mark the 28th anniversary of the passing of the late King Hassan II

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, will preside over a religious vigil on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat, to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the passing of the late King Hassan II, may God bless his soul.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery in a statement.

A ceremony organized at the Mohammed V Mausoleum

The religious vigil will take place this Monday, corresponding to 9 Rabii II 1448 of the Hijri calendar, at the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat.

This commemorative ceremony is held on the anniversary of the passing of the late King Hassan II, who passed away in 1999. It will gather, under the presidency of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the participants at this religious vigil organized at the Mohammed V Mausoleum.

The statement from the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery specifies that the ceremony will be broadcast live on radio and television.

A broadcast starting at Maghrib

The live broadcast will begin from the Maghrib prayer, allowing the public to follow the religious vigil from a distance.

This ceremony is part of the religious and commemorative events presided over by the Sovereign in his capacity as Amir Al-Mouminine.

The 28th anniversary of the passing of the late King Hassan II thus takes place this Monday in a solemn setting, at the Mohammed V Mausoleum, where the late King Mohammed V also rests.
