Italy's keen interest in collaborative renewable energy initiatives with Morocco was highlighted by Aziz Akhannouch, the Head of the Moroccan Government, during a press conference in Rome following the "Italy-Africa: A Bridge for Common Growth" summit. The Italian government expressed eagerness to leverage Morocco's advancements in sustainable power.

Under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has made significant progress in developing renewable energy sources, particularly in solar and wind. The nation has set an ambitious goal of deriving 52% of its electricity from renewables by 2030. Akhannouch, in his statements, emphasized Italy's intention to establish a training center in Morocco aimed at nurturing skills in this burgeoning industry.

During the press conference, the Head of the Moroccan Government highlighted the successful trajectory of Morocco's green energy initiatives since 2009. Notable projects, such as green hydrogen production and a pan-African gas pipeline connecting 11 nations, were cited as exemplary achievements. Once completed, this gas pipeline will interconnect the continent with Europe, placing Morocco at the forefront of Italy's strategy to collaborate with and support African nations.

Morocco, with its impressive track record in renewable energy and strategic geographical location, is strategically leveraging Italy's enthusiasm for collaboration. The summit emphasized Morocco's pivotal role in fostering fair energy cooperation between Europe and Africa through ambitious low-carbon ventures. If materialized, these partnerships could be transformative for all involved nations, as renewable resources are harnessed on an increasingly expansive scale.
