Morocco Gains Ground in the Global Aerospace Industry

Morocco has firmly established itself as a competitive player in the global aerospace sector, according to the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, during the opening of the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget.

Speaking to MAP, Minister Mezzour highlighted growing international interest in Morocco’s aerospace sector, especially from regions such as Asia, Europe, and the Americas. He emphasized the rapid expansion of the national aerospace industry, now responsible for over 25 billion dirhams in annual exports and supporting more than 25,000 skilled jobs across more than 150 companies.

This progress, he noted, is a direct result of the vision of King Mohammed VI, who has strategically positioned Morocco as a leading destination for industrial and aerospace investments globally. The sector has enjoyed consistent double-digit growth in recent years, underlining its significant development potential.

As part of the Moroccan delegation attending this global aerospace summit (June 16–22), Minister Mezzour and other officials, including Ali Seddiki, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), engaged in intensive discussions with top industry stakeholders to attract further investment and promote Morocco’s competitive edge in aerospace manufacturing.

According to Mezzour, Moroccan officials are holding around fifteen meetings per day with both current and prospective investors, seeking to explore and fast-track new opportunities. Moroccan startups are also playing a prominent role at the event, engaging with investors across the Moroccan Pavilion’s two floors.

Organized by AMDIE in collaboration with the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Group (GIMAS), the pavilion showcases six Moroccan companies, reflecting the expertise and vibrancy of Morocco’s aerospace ecosystem.

With over 2,500 exhibitors, 130,000 professional visitors, and more than 320 official delegations, the Paris Air Show serves as a global platform for innovation and advancement in the aerospace field. Morocco is being represented by a strong delegation of government officials and industry leaders, including the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, and the Delegate Minister for Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, Karim Zidane.
