Mawazine 2025: To the beat of afrobeats, Lojay and Wizkid electrify OLM Souissi

Rabat lit up Thursday evening as Nigerian artists Lojay and Wizkid brought the vibrant energy of afropop and afrobeat rhythms to the OLM Souissi stage, thrilling thousands during the 20th edition of Mawazine Rhythms of the World festival.

Lojay opened the night, instantly captivating the crowd with his hit tracks like Monalisa and Leader. His performance blended smooth vocals, choreographed dance steps, and dynamic interaction with the audience. The artist kicked off his set with the mellow Tonongo before raising the intensity with the crowd-favorite Billions, accompanied by an immersive stage design and entrancing visuals.

Excitement reached new heights when afropop icon Wizkid took the stage amid a burst of lights. Joined by DJ Tunez, he launched into his hit Soco, sparking a roar from the audience. The performance continued with Bad To Me, Ojuelegba, Essence, and Come Closer, turning the venue into a massive open-air dance floor filled with energy and celebration.

Each artist brought a unique sound and style to the stage, offering two distinct yet complementary experiences that showcased the diversity and richness of modern afrobeats.

The concert is part of a broader festival program highlighting African musical heritage and global collaborations, reinforcing Mawazine’s long-standing role as a platform for cross-cultural artistic exchange.

Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 20th edition of Mawazine continues until June 28, bringing together leading artists from the Arab world and beyond, and transforming Rabat-Salé into a hub of exceptional musical encounters.
