Trump threatens Gaza with dire consequences over hostages
US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to the people of Gaza and Hamas, demanding the release of Israeli hostages. In a social media post, Trump stated that failure to release the captives would result in severe consequences, calling it the "last warning." He also directed a message to Gaza's residents, offering a “beautiful future” but threatening death if hostages are not freed.
Trump's statement came shortly after the White House confirmed ongoing talks with Hamas, although he has called for the forced displacement of Gaza’s population and the US to take control of Palestinian territory. His comments include an aggressive demand for Hamas to return all bodies of deceased individuals as part of any agreement.
Although Israel has previously used Palestinian bodies for negotiations, Trump’s message emphasizes the urgency of compliance with his terms. He has also expressed support for Israel, pushing for continued military actions and restrictions on Gaza, which have drawn international condemnation. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces allegations of war crimes in Gaza, further complicating the tense situation.
