Intergenerational exchange strengthens Moroccan community in Germany

More than 200 members of the Moroccan community in Germany gathered in Frankfurt for a meeting focused on youth and intergenerational transmission, organized by the Amana associations of Frankfurt and Wuppertal. The event, themed “The Diaspora: A Bridge Between Germany and Morocco,” highlighted the contributions of Moroccans living abroad (MRE) and reinforced their role in strengthening cultural, social, and economic ties between the two countries.

The gathering included the Consul General of Morocco in Frankfurt, Khalifa Ait Chaib, alongside representatives from Moroccan institutions such as the Department for Moroccans Living Abroad under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, and the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME).

Prominent Moroccan-German figures from scientific, social, educational, religious, media, and political sectors participated, creating a space for dialogue on preserving Moroccan identity, particularly among younger generations. The event also highlighted Morocco’s ongoing development under HM King Mohammed VI and the active role of the diaspora in supporting national progress.

Speakers emphasized the importance of associational networks in mobilizing and educating the community, promoting Morocco’s values abroad, and ensuring continuity of cultural traditions. The event also encouraged youth engagement, honoring leaders who have dedicated efforts to the Moroccan community in Germany and underscoring the strategic role of the diaspora as a key driver of national development.
