Transavia to launch new Oujda-Amsterdam route this winter

Transavia has announced the introduction of a new air route connecting Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to the Moroccan city of Oujda. The route will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting December 10, 2025.

Seasonal operations and high demand

The service will run until January 11, 2026, and resume operations from February 4 to March 8 to accommodate demand during peak travel seasons. Flights will be operated using Airbus A321neo aircraft, which can carry up to 232 passengers.

Transavia highlighted the high demand for this connection, particularly given that many residents of the Netherlands have family in northeastern Morocco. “Oujda is located in a region where many people in the Netherlands have family,” the airline noted, adding that this demand grows especially during school holidays.

Expanding network in Morocco

This new route makes Transavia the only airline directly connecting Schiphol and the Randstad region to Oujda. The company already serves other northeastern Moroccan cities, including Nador and Al Hoceima, from Rotterdam The Hague Airport.

In addition to the northeastern routes, Transavia’s wider Moroccan network includes popular destinations such as Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier, and Agadir.

Strategic growth

The announcement follows Transavia’s ongoing expansion in Morocco. Earlier this year, the airline revealed plans to launch 14 new routes to Morocco by winter 2025, including services to Agadir and Rabat.

With its growing route network, Transavia continues to strengthen its position as a key carrier connecting Europe and Morocco, catering to both leisure travelers and those visiting family in the region.
