Storms suspend Ferry services between Tarifa and Tangier

Ferry services between the Spanish port of Tarifa and Tangier have been suspended from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday due to severe weather conditions in the Strait of Gibraltar, including heavy rainfall and strong winds, authorities reported.

All crossings scheduled after 10:00 a.m. were canceled, with only the 9:00 a.m. departure operating as planned. A total of nine sailings by Balearia and AML were affected, leaving the Tarifa–Tangier route out of service for the day.

The maritime connection between Algeciras and Tangier Med remains operational, although passengers are advised to monitor updates due to potential disruptions. Spain’s national meteorological agency (Aemet) maintained a yellow alert for rainfall, expecting up to 15 liters per square meter in one hour and up to 40 liters over 12 hours.
