Mauritanian First Lady Undergoes Successful Surgery in Rabat
The First Lady of Mauritania, Mariem Bint Dah, wife of President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, recently underwent a successful surgical procedure at a military hospital in Rabat, Morocco. Following this experience, she conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Mauritanian people for their solidarity and sincere well-wishes.
In an official statement from the presidential press office, Bint Dah expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of support from citizens across all regions of the country. She highlighted the significant positive impact of these gestures of affection and heartfelt prayers on her morale, which played a crucial role in her recovery process.
The statement also confirmed that the First Lady's health continues to improve, raising hopes for a full recovery. Bint Dah extended her sincere thanks to those who visited her or provided support during this challenging period.
President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani had departed Mauritania earlier for a private visit to Morocco. While official details of the trip were not disclosed, reports suggested that his primary purpose was to be by his wife’s side and oversee her medical care, entrusted to a highly regarded Moroccan medical team.
This episode reflects the enduring bond between the Mauritanian people and their leaders, underscored by the mutual concern and solidarity shown during moments of personal adversity.
