Turkish stock exchange begins week up

Türkiye’s benchmark BIST 100 index opened the week on a positive note Monday, rising 0.65% to 10,634.04 points, an increase of 68.3 points from the previous close.

The index had ended Friday down 0.59% at 10,565.74, with a daily transaction volume of 104 billion Turkish liras ($2.46 billion).

As of 10:05 a.m. local time (0705 GMT), the Turkish lira traded at 42.3375 against the US dollar, 48.1795 versus the euro, and 55.7295 against the British pound.

Meanwhile, global commodities recorded modest movements. Gold was priced at $4,067.60 per ounce, while Brent crude oil traded at $63.4 per barrel.
