Supreme Council of Ulema Convenes 33rd Ordinary Session Following Royal Directive

Following the High Approval of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful and President of the Supreme Council of Ulema, the esteemed council will convene its 33rd ordinary session on July 5 and 6 in Rabat. This pivotal gathering underscores the council's unwavering commitment to addressing crucial matters pertaining to the nation's religious affairs.

The session's proceedings will begin on July 5 at the headquarters of the Council's General Secretariat, commencing after the Asr prayer. According to a communiqué issued by the Supreme Council of Ulema, the agenda encompasses a comprehensive array of pressing issues.

Among the key items on the docket is the review of regulatory and scientific aspects pertaining to the implementation of the communication plan (Tabligh) and the establishment of the Supreme Council of Ulema's official portal. Additionally, the session will delve into evaluating the means and methodologies for action across various communication platforms.

Furthermore, the council will scrutinize research and studies currently underway. This includes the resumption of publishing the council's journals, monitoring the plan for restoring Islamic heritage, annotating the book "Al-Shifa" (The Healing) by Qadi Ayyad, and following up on the activities of the scientific body responsible for issuing fatwas and the Sharia committee for participatory finance.

This session is being convened in accordance with the provisions of Dahir No. 1.03.300 of 02 Rabii I 1425 of the Hegira (April 22, 2004), concerning the reorganization of the Councils of Ulema, as amended and supplemented, particularly the first paragraph of Article 4. It is also being held in application of the provisions of Dahir No. 1.04.231 of 7 Moharram 1426 of the Hegira (February 16, 2005), approving the internal regulations of the Supreme Council of Ulema, particularly Articles 5 and 6.

Additionally, this session is being convened in accordance with Dahir No. 1.23.47 of 26 Dou Al Kiada 1444 of the Hegira (June 15, 2023), and Dahir No. 1.23.48 of 26 Dou Al Kiada 1444 of the Hegira (June 15, 2023).

As the Supreme Council of Ulema gathers for this crucial session, it reaffirms its steadfast dedication to upholding the nation's religious principles and values, while simultaneously addressing contemporary challenges and fostering a harmonious and enlightened society.
