Strong localized thunderstorms expected over Northern Morocco this weekend
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has announced that locally intense thunderstorms are expected across several northern provinces of Morocco on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the weather alert issued at the orange vigilance level, rainfall amounts between 30 and 50 millimetres are forecast from Saturday at 8 p.m. until Sunday at 8 a.m. The affected areas include Mdiq-Fnideq, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tangier-Assilah, and Tetouan.
The meteorological services warn that these stormy downpours may cause temporary disruptions in traffic and increased runoff in certain vulnerable zones. Authorities are urging residents in the affected provinces to remain cautious and follow safety recommendations throughout the alert period.
