School Holidays: Moroccan motorways prepare for heavy traffic nationwide
As school holidays coincide with a weekend, the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) has issued a warning to motorists, anticipating heavy traffic across the entire national motorway network.
In a statement released in Rabat, ADM indicated that peak traffic periods are expected on Friday afternoon and evening, as well as Saturday morning. Increased congestion is also forecast on the final day of the school break, particularly during the late afternoon and evening hours when travelers return home.
To ensure safer and smoother journeys, the company is encouraging drivers to plan their trips in advance and stay informed about real-time traffic conditions through dedicated digital tools. Motorists are also urged to remain attentive to weather alerts, especially in the event of strong winds, rainfall, or fog that could affect visibility and road conditions.
ADM further recommends taking regular breaks during long journeys, checking vehicle tires before departure, and using emergency lanes only in cases of absolute necessity. Drivers using electronic toll systems are advised to verify their balance in advance to avoid delays at toll stations.
As part of its ongoing efforts to improve service quality, ADM has expanded the availability of its electronic toll pass, allowing users to purchase and recharge it at motorway service areas. The company concluded by wishing travelers safe holidays and reminding them that assistance and information services remain available throughout the network.
