 Saudi Crown Prince and Russian Foreign Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Riyadh on Monday. The meeting underscored the ongoing commitment to enhancing the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Russia.

At the outset of the meeting, the Crown Prince welcomed Lavrov to the Kingdom, who conveyed warm greetings and appreciation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince. In turn, the Crown Prince expressed his regards to President Putin, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The discussions encompassed a review of the bilateral relations between the two friendly nations, focusing on areas of mutual cooperation and strategies to support and develop these ties across various sectors. 

Additionally, the leaders addressed the latest regional and international developments, emphasizing collaborative efforts to bolster security and stability. They also explored several issues of common interest that could further enhance their partnership.

The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Minister of State and National Security Advisor, Musaad bin Mohammed Al Aiban.

From the Russian side, the meeting included the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Kingdom, Sergey Kozlov, along with other officials.

In a parallel engagement, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also met with Minister Lavrov at the headquarters of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat. This meeting further reinforced the discussions on bilateral relations, exploring avenues for cooperation and addressing the latest developments in the regional and international landscape.

Attendees at this meeting included Deputy Foreign Minister Walid bin Abdulkarim Al Khuraiji, Ambassador Saud Al Sati, and Ambassador Abdulrahman Al Rassi, who oversees the Ministry’s public diplomacy efforts. 

This series of meetings reflects the ongoing dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Russia, highlighting their commitment to fostering a robust partnership and addressing shared challenges on the global stage.
